Running for a healthier lifestyle

Hyderabad runner's society's 3rd edition of the event focused on family bonding in a fun and engaging manner





Founded in 2007, the Hyderabad Runners group currently has over 6,000 members. The Hyderabad Runners Society, in association with Hitex (Hyderabad Kids Fair), has recently organised the Hyderabad Kids Run 2018. More than 2,000 kids participated at the 3rd edition of Hyderabad Kids Run, giving a touch of healthy lifestyle for kids and parents.

In this edition, the Run for children was organised in three categories: 4 km, 2 km and 1 km to promote an active lifestyle and family bonding in a fun and engaging manner for the children.
Highlights
1 km – ‘Monfant’ for mothers, who carried their infants below 24 months in sling bags for a distance of 1 km.
2 km – ‘Chill-Run’, for children from 4 to 8 years wherein parents can push their children in prams or walk with them.
4 km – ‘Fantastic Run’ for children between 8 and 12 years to run 4 kms.
The event was flagged off by SM Vijay Kumar, IPS, DCP Traffic, Cyberabad. Cultural programmes were also performed by students from various organisations.

Talking about the 3rd edition of Hyderabad Kids Run 2018, Abhishek Kumar, race director, said: “We hope this event will help kids inculcate an active lifestyle from a very young age and also a chance for the parents to participate along with kids.”

The mission of Hyderbad Runners Society is to promote active lifestyles amongst the public and make running as the preferred form of fitness.
